86 Teens Pregnant at Memphis High School—Pregnancy Prevention Campaign Launched

Last year, 86 girls at one Memphis high school got pregnant or gave birth. In response to the wave of teen pregnancies, a campaign called “No Baby!” was launched. The campaign seeks to teach teens about pregnancy prevention, as well as ways to cope with unplanned pregnancies. “Last month, U.S. health officials released new government figures for 2009 showing 39 births per 1,000 girls, ages 15 through 19, the lowest rate since records have been kept on this issue,” the report noted.
